In Plain Sight

At first sight, the image appears to depict a wall in a residential setting. On closer inspection, it reveals itself as a photograph of a constructed collage, in which the perception of depth is disrupted. Elements from the background are brought to the foreground, while a shadow appears to transform into a solid form.

These shifts reflect the subjective nature of looking: certain elements are brought forward while others recede or are overlooked. The work explores the space between what is present and what we perceive, inviting us to consider how our individual ways of seeing shape our experience of the environment.
