The series Closed for Business documents the quiet disappearance of independent shops from London's streets. Utilizing a strict typological approach, defined by a detached, frontal perspective and a unified colour palette, the images transform fading storefronts into a formal study of urban change.

Most of the photographs were taken between 2007 and the present day in Hackney, East London. What begins as a personal observation of the artist's own neighbourhood evolves into a reflection on a global phenomenon: the commercial standardization of city centres. By tracing the visual language of these everyday spaces, Closed for Business explores the impacts of shifting consumer habits and the pandemic, ultimately mapping the fragile connections between memory, place, and identity.

The series was exhibited during the Wiesbadener Fototage 2025 at the Stadtmuseum Wiesbaden.

The book is available as a self-published hardback in a signed edition of 100, alongside a hand-bound concertina book, edition of 5. Both the concertina edition and 30 special copies of the hardback feature a bespoke, hand-bound corrugated cardboard cover with a magnetic closure, designed to mimic the tactile texture of a closed shop shutter.
